Design, Build, Program, & Operate Amazing Robots To Compete Head-To-Head In Local and Regional Tournaments. When We Say Robots, We Mean REAL Metal Robots With Servos, Motors, Sensors, And More!!!

First Tech Challenge (FTC) challenges students to apply STEM concepts in real-world situations and inspires tomorrow’s innovators and entrepreneurs.  Participants develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles while they deep dive into robotic design and construction, CAD modeling, coding, 3d printing (often needed to fabricate parts for the robot) and more. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and programmed using Java-based programming languages.

Manufactured Chaos will meet at the Forest City YMCA and will compete locally and regionally with the goal of reaching state and national level competitions. We plan to have tons of fun but will take our season seriously so we can compete at a high level.  Hard work, innovation, and teamwork will be of upmost importance. This being said, there is no experience necessary.  You just need some curiosity, work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work well with others! Participants must be in grades 7-12 AND 12-18 years old.

We will host 3 exploratory camps this summer covering Engineering, Coding, and 3d Design as it relates to FTC Robotics.  These exploratory camps are a great way to learn the basics in a non-competitive environment. These camps are important for those interested in joining our competition team Manufactured Chaos. However, you do not have to join our team to attend these camps.

Our competition season practices will kick off in early September.  Competitions will begin in October and will involve travel to various communities around North Iowa.  Typical travel time is 60-90 minutes with tournaments held on Saturdays.

Practices are typically Wednesdays after school and Sunday evenings.  However, the team will evaluate schedules to make practices times work as best as possible for the team.

Regional and state championships will be held in late February and early March.  A full schedule of events will be available in late September.
