Master Builders is a deep dive into the construction techniques and architectural concepts involved in house building. Using scaled dimensional lumber made of balsa wood, participants ages 10-14 years old will follow detailed blueprints to frame a realistic 1:16th scale house.

Participants will learn about:

  1. Using construction techniques in accordance with the International Building Code
  2. Dimensioning the lumber to the scale of real lumber used in construction
  3. Reading house plan drawings
  4. Framing concepts and terminology used in house building
  5. Structural design and engineering
